ZELL

“When it stops being fun, I will walk away from it.”  This is what I, Zellisa Felder, known as “Zell”, said when I got my first gig with a live band in 2007 on the Kemah Boardwalk in Kemah, TX.  It had been a lifelong dream to be a lead singer in front of a live band and from that moment on, for more than 10 years, I could be found on any given weekend performing vocally with live bands at weddings, private parties and other venues throughout Houston and the surrounding area.  And I did it, just for the fun of it! 

 

So when I was approached a few times about recording, my answer was a very direct, no…I am not interested.  There was something that the “live experience” gave me that I did not think I could find in a recording studio.  After all, my “raw” talent was better suited for singing in church choirs, leading a praise team, performing plays in theaters and for live bands.  It was not made for the quiet, structured realm of the recording studio.  At least that was what I thought.

 

It wasn’t until Tylarik Records presented the opportunity to me in 2022 that Zell finally said, “Yes…why not?  You only live once.  Let’s give this recording thing a try.”

 

And here we are!
